4 Months and Counting.........

Today marks the 4 month anniversary of the disappearance of Jennifer Powers.

It has been 4 months with no word from this beautiful young mother of 3 children. According to her husband, Jason, she simply got up in the night and left their home. In addition to leaving her 3 children alone with no mother, she also supposedly left her wallet, containing her driver's license and other important documents that all women keep in their purse or wallet.

If her husband is to be believed, Jennifer walked away from everything that was her life. But, he also waited approximately 2 weeks of Jennifer being gone to contact the Madison County Sheriff's Department, to file a missing persons report on her disappearance.

He has made no attempt to make a public plea with the news stations or the local newspaper to get the info about Jennifer out to the public. He has made no attempt to have any search parties formed in an attempt to find Jennifer. He has made no attempt whatsoever to find his wife and the mother of his children.

We ask that you continue to remember Jennifer, her children and parents, in your prayers. Please pray that she will be found.....one way or another. Jennifer's 3 children, her parents, other family members and friends deserve to know what has happened to her. They deserve to be able to lay this matter to rest and start their long over due healing process.

If you have any info at all on the disappearance of Jennifer Powers, please call the investigations division of the Madison County Sheriff's Department.

My question is this: What has the family done? Has the family attempted to form a search party? Have they made a public plea to ask the community for assistance? Why should this all be left up to the husband? In asking that I would like to say that I do not in any way know the husband and I agree that it does not look good statistically on his part but in looking at the larger picture NO one close to her has made this a larger case. So I must think then that there is more information that the family would know that would prevent them from being more public. Has anyone been in contact with the family? Are we sure that they do not know where she is and possibly have contact with her? Just a thought.

The only thing I know about the family is Jennifer's parents info was on the missing persons flyer. I know her parents are older so it might be hard on them to do a search. I agree with you. Someone somewhere knows something. There is a search planned for Dec 6 meeting time 8:30-9 am Sparkman high in Harvest.

I can tell you that I have contacted the Madison County Sheriff's Dept. about us doing a search for Jennifer. At no time have they said that a search should not be done. Since the authorities are in charge of this case, and in touch with the family, they would know if they had been in contact with Jennifer since she left. If the Sheriff's Dept. knew that she had been in contact with the family, they would know that there was no reason for a search party to look for Jennifer, and would tell us that it's not necessary to look for her.

Since we have not been told by the people in charge that a search should not be done, we can only think that they agree that we should look for her.

There has been no public plea for assistance of any type in trying to find Jennifer. As hfjp said, the only thing that anyone has seen are some flyers posted around with her parents as the contact point. We also have to remember that Jennifer's husband waited TWO WEEKS to even contact the Sheriff's Dept. to report her as missing.

Right after he reported her as missing, there were 2 small articles in the Times about it. Since those articles were written, nothing else has been reported on this case.

Under the circumstances, the lack of her husband doing anything to help find her, or to keep her name and face out there for the public to remember her, it doesn't look very good for him. As more time passes, and he does nothing at all, the more guilty he looks in the public eye. I think that it's safe to compare him with Drew Peterson at this point. Drew has done nothing to try to find his wife, Stacy.....just as Jennifer's husband has done nothing to try to find her.

ALSO, in closing, let me say this. Anyone that knows anything at all about women, know that a woman never leaves the house without her purse or wallet. According to Jennifer's husband, she left her wallet at home and simply walked out with nothing but the clothes on her back. That one just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to anyone that knows anything about us females at all.

our whole community totally agrees with you about jason being the prime suspect because of his actions. we really appreciate you coming here to help us search for her and we are wondering why our tax dollars are going to a police department that is doing nothing. they have made huntsville a big joke. we plan to be there with about 20 people to help in anyway we can.
